About

This app was conceptualized, designed, and developed by Joe Nicosia and Paul Burke, specifically for the StreetApps Challenge.

The idea behind Random Reuters is found productivity. Its an engaging and enjoyable way to learn about companies when you're on-the-go.

Using the Thomson Reuters Knowledge Direct API and Yahoo Finance API, Random Reuters will show you all types of information of randomly-chosen companies.

You can save companies for offline viewing, as well as easily share them with friends via email, sms, twitter and more.

The US market is huge, and only so many companies are covered in the news. Random Reuters is unique, in that it randomly chooses from a list of over 6,000 companies from the NYSE and NASDAQ.

Who knows? You may learn about the next big thing from Random Reuters! After-all, there's no real way to search for a company you've never heard of.

Thomson Reuters StreetApps Challenge

Random Reuters is an Android application developed for the 2010 Thomson Reuters StreetApps Challenge.

Thomson Reuters decided to challenge the public to be creative and think differently about how our customers view and receive financial information when they are on-the-go.

We believe Random Reuters is great for both financial professionals and novices alike. Thats what makes it stand out.

We would have loved to build in a search feature, that allows you to manually search for companies, but we didn't have time. However, if you vote for Random Reuters, we may have a chance to continue working on this project!
